New RadarCube ASP.NET MVC version: 1.00.0
Mon, 21 Sep 2015 16:02:08 -0400

BETA

RadarCube ASP.NET MVC controls are designed to implement OLAP analysis features in ASP.NET web-applications using MVC architecture. RadarCube ASP.NET MVC controls as well as their ancestor RadarCube ASP.NET provide displaying and manipulating multidimensional data in the form of OLAP Grid or OLAP Chart in your web-applications. It has the UI and the API for many functions and features. Here is only a few points from the huge functionality list:

  • Interactive view and manipulation with the cube structure;
  • Visualization of the OLAP slices of any complexity using different forms of analysis (color, size, shape);
  • Convenient forming of the current layout dragging the available measures and hierarchies to the corresponding pivot areas to achieve the best configuration for analysis;
  • Drilling in and out of details to achieve the depth that you really need for your analysis. You can choose what you want to see - the whole hierarchy or a single member from it - with a single click;
  • Advanced filtering mechanism. Hide the parts of your OLAP cube using the flexible filters. You can filter on hierarchy members or on measure values or use other filters to see only what you're interested in at the moment;
  • Export the results of your analysis to another formats to pass it further for a deeper view or for a report. Many export formats supported so you will definitely find the one you can work with;
  • Boost the performance of you site using the paging - mechanism that allows to process and render the analysis results with a small parts to reduce the server load and reaction time.

Of course many other features are borrowed from the RadarCube HTML OLAP controls - you can find the more detailed description here. Traditionally RadarCube ASP.NET MVC controls have flexible configuration and the wide variety of visual themes to help you embed it to your applications.

New RadarCube ASP.NET version: 4.00.0
Thu, 10 Sep 2015 12:45:51 -0400

New features:

  1. User Interface has been renewed. Now it is more friendly and unified. A lot of themes from jQuery UI now available as predefined. You can also create your own themes and change the look and feel of the OLAP controls. The preferable way is using ThemeRoller from jQuety UI;
  2. The controls TOLAPToolbox, TOLAPGridFilters, TOLAPExport are not used separately any longer. All settings and properties now encapsulated in TOLAPAnalisys, TOLAPChart, TOLAPGrid controls;
  3. Now you can create your custom toolbox buttons with a text in it;
  4. Now you can drag-and-drop the elements inside the pivot areas to change their order;
  5. "All members" node of the Hierarchy editor is now expanded by default.

Bugs fixed:

  1. The "Drillthrough" item in the context menu of a cell disappears if some filters were applied;
  2. The "Wating..." pop-up window doesn't show up after drag-and-drop operations;
  3. Some browsers do not behave well when checking/unchecking items in Hierarchy editor;
  4. The context menu in the hierarchy editor can never be closed once it was opened, only along with the whole hierarchy editor. Now it behaves like a normal context menu should;
  5. In HTML OLAP Chart there is no way to put several measures to a single chart using the UI.

What's new:

  1. Multiple document interface added. Now you can work with several slices in a single control. See more in the demo application, the example "OLAP MDI Analysis (NEW!)";
  2. Statistical analysis (like in MS Excel) of the selected cells in an OLAP slice. See the details in the article Selected cells statistical analysis.

  2. Installer improved;
  3. Help file updated.

New HierCube VCL version: 5.10
Sun, 31 May 2015 15:50:31 -0400

What's new:

  1. Complete migration to UNICODE mode introduced in Delphi 2009. While earlier HierCube VCL provided the support of Unicode symbols using WideString type, now it uses the benefits of the native UnicodeString type to hold and manipulate the strings. Of course, this is only true for Delphi 2009+. For older Delphi versions it still uses the WideString type.

    During this migration a lot of code has been changed and the most significant change is the visual Unicode components traditionally shipped along with HierCube. Now most of these components are simple descendants of the native Delphi components and only left for backward compatibility. Again, this is only true for Delphi 2009+. For older Delphi versions the code of the Unicode components is pretty much the same.

    The code for the older Delphi versions is now segregated into the separate units with the "D2007" suffix. This is done so to get rid of a bulk of compiler directives in the code, to simplify the maintenance of the new code, and also to easy drop the support of the old code in the future.
  2. Export to the text formats now support different encoding: Windows Ansi, UTF-8 and UTF-16 (BE or LE). UTF may be written with or without BOM (Byte Order Mark) at that;
  3. Export to XLS file now does not support the old BIFF4 format;
  4. Streaming system changed a little to support new formats. Some data blocks are now saved in different ways however all streams are backward compatible, so you can read the old streams without problems;
  5. Help file updated.

Bugs fixed:

  1. Some THierCube methods (THierCube.LoadUserData for example) may give out an error "The stream has invalid method of compression";
  2. String conversion errors in the export components. Even if it may rarely occur, it may completely ruin the export result.

New RadarCube ASP.NET version: 3.51.0
Wed, 06 May 2015 06:39:23 -0400

New features:

  1. Delayed Pivoting mode. HTML OLAP controls can now work in the mode of Delayed Pivoting. When this mode is on the grid data is not displayed and the cube rotation time can dramatically go down. After that the Delayed Pivoting can be turned off again and the grid shows its data in the new layout. This works for OLAP Grid as well as for OLAP Chart. The toolbar now has the corresponding button to control this behavior;
  2. The size of the cells in the HTML OLAP Grid is adjusted automatically if the property TOLAPGrid.UseFixedHeaders == false. The toolbar now has the corresponding button to control this behavior;
  3. Now when ExpandMeasuresNode == true and ExpandDimensionsNode == true the child nodes of the cube structure tree are expanded as well.

New RadarCube for WPF version: 1.71.0
Tue, 21 Apr 2015 05:15:19 -0400

Bugs fixed:

  1. The command "Expand all nodes" does not always expand all the members in the multilevel hierarchies. It might not if the hierarchy members contain the same child nodes;
  2. The expansion state of a multilevel hierarchy may not be saved in the Direct edition;
  3. Export operation may fail after changing AnalysisType if the number of filters and modifiers exceeds the number of records in the OLAP-slice;
  4. Errors might show up when working with some large databases.

  5. In the Quick Filter the filtering limits may be incorrect;
  6. Setting of the OLAPGridSettings.ScrollFullGrid property produces the NullReference exception.
